Mark came here 5 years ago a lot has changed in 5 years but with his buddy also Marc were they up for it!!!!
Change in tactics from before but they both wanted carp and cats, so 4 cat rods 2 carp rods and they were off and running. Ovals and all mod cons!!! set up what would happen as only a few days ago we had a tremendous session.
First blood to Mark with a 43lb cat, night falls rods all baited plenty of pellet sent out and we are all set for action.
In the early hours Marc is in and having an English PB of 27lb was he about to brake it and experience the full force of the Ebro!!!!
Ohhh yes cracking fight and a great result as Marc had just tripled his PB with a cracker at 96lb.
Time for a lay down but Mark was next on the rods, which kept us waiting till dawn when Mark was in. Yet another cracking fight resulting in a 72lb cat for Mark and Marc also chipping in with a small but perfect common.
First night over 2 fishermen aching all over but catfishing isn’t for the faint hearted so rods re-baited and back out ready for day 2.
Slow day not much happening apart from a huge thunder storm which freshened things up. Soon after a 28lb cat for Mark on the carp rods.
Night fell rods in position lots of strange sounds coming from the ovals but the alarms stayed silent. I was up at 4-30am (what a champion) and with lots of zzzz’s coming from behind re baited all rods something was sure to happen!!
7am rod rattles of and Marc is in, it didn’t pull to start with but soon Marc again was into an Ebro monster. Great fight very strong fish but when it surfaced well big big surprise.
Another half mandarin but this was a different fish and looked bigger from the one Chris caught back in September.
Stunning fish and pulled the scales round to 126lb probably the best looking fish we have caught here On The Ebro.
A trip of a life time and with Mark landing a 48lb er right at the end a great session came to an end.
With a day left rods were put out back at the garden where Marc managed another PB this time in the form of a 24lb carp, a few other carp and small cats and it was time to wrap up.
Some people have made many visits to this incredible river and yet to achieve their goals Marc done it with his first visit!! lets hope the aching bones get better and the effort you have to put in doesn’t put you off for another visit.
